Lancashire accountancy firm’s 2023 challenges shine light on community commitment

Preston-based chartered accountancy firm Rotherham Taylor began the year with the aim of completing a monthly challenge, all in the aid of charity and their local community.

With the finishing line in sight, the challenges have so far seen the firm’s team tackle a wide variety of challenges, from cleaning up over 116kg of waste at Formby beach and hosting an archery opening day, to arranging a team shoe box collection for the International Aid Trust.

There was even chance to complete the unique seven-mile Cross Bay Walk in Morecambe, which was accomplished alongside the Lancashire Mind charity.

Rotherham Taylor is no stranger to supporting the community around them, with a long-standing history of organising fundraisers and supporting charity events, as well as providing accounting services to a number of charities.

As 2023 draws to an end, Rotherham Taylor can look back at a successful year in which it has donated a significant amount of money and given back to the community, underlining its commitment to social responsibility.

“As a local firm, we always want to ensure that we are not only serving the needs of our clients, but of the people in our area,” said Rebecca Bradshaw, Director at Rotherham Taylor. “It has always been important to us as a firm that we do our bit to give back to the community, and the challenges we set ourselves gave us the perfect opportunity to help and support people across a wide spectrum of the community.

“While some of the challenges seemed like an uphill struggle (sometimes literally during our Cross Bay walk!), we are on course to complete them all before the year ends. I’m proud of our team who have been on-board since day one and have put their all in to help us make a difference to those who really need it.”

The final challenge will take place in December where the firm will collect food and toiletry donations, all of which will go to the Foxton Centre to support their efforts in helping young and homeless people in the Preston area.
