An initiative to support Lancashire dads through football has received a £500 donation from Preston accountancy firm, Rotherham Taylor, thanks to its RT Community Fund.

Teamkickabout offers dads a safe place to connect, get fitter and have fun through football, while bringing local dads closer together and giving them something to look forward to every week.

The money from Rotherham Taylor will help Teamkickabout buy new equipment to support local dads to get active, including bibs, balls, bags, gloves and shirts. It will also be used to support those who may be short on cash but still wish to play.

Rebecca Bradshaw, Director, and Chloe Greenbank, Senior Manager, at Rotherham Taylor attended one of Teamkickabout’s sessions in Blackburn recently to present the cheque for £500.

Graham Sims of Teamkickabout said: “We are very grateful to Rotherham Taylor for the support it is giving to local dads here in Lancashire, thanks to its generous donation.

“The dads who come along tell us that the Teamkickabout sessions are a highlight of their week and the impact on their all-round wellbeing is plain to see.”

Rebecca Bradshaw added: “It is a pleasure to be able to help local dads in this way.

“This is fantastic support to have in place following the challenges of the pandemic and it is great to have made a difference through the Rotherham Taylor Community Fund.

“We decided to support Teamkickabout primarily because of the mental health benefits they offer to dads across the region, which is a cause close to our hearts with Lancashire Mind being our current chosen charity.”

Rotherham Taylor has run the Rotherham Taylor Community Fund for a number of years now, supporting everything from boxing clubs, to schools, hockey clubs and youth football clubs.
